KidsRise Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 17, 2026

KidsRise helps families build good habits with activities, challenges and rewards. A parent sets up the family and invites kids. This page explains what we collect, why, and how to delete it.

What we collect

Kids do not need an email address or phone number. A kid joins a device with the family code from a parent and a 4-digit PIN. A parent can reset a kid's PIN or remove a kid at any time.

Sign in with Apple

On iPhone and iPad, parents can sign in with Apple. Apple shares a user identifier and the email address you choose to share with us. If you pick Hide My Email, we only get an Apple relay address that forwards to you. Apple shares your name only the first time you sign in, and only if you allow it. We use this information only to sign you in and show your name in your family. We never see your Apple ID password. We also keep a token from Apple on our server, never on your device, so that when you delete your account we can tell Apple to remove KidsRise's access to your Apple ID. You can also stop using Sign in with Apple for KidsRise at any time in your Apple Account settings.

Notifications

Notifications are optional and you can turn them off in the app (menu, then Notifications) or in your device settings. When you allow them, the app saves a push token for that device so we can send alerts such as "a check-in is waiting for your approval" or "your reward was approved". The token identifies the device for notifications only. It is not used for ads or tracking.

Alerts are delivered through the Expo push notification service, which passes them to Apple Push Notification service or Firebase Cloud Messaging. The alert text can include a kid's name and the name of an activity, reward or challenge. A parent's daily reminder is scheduled on the phone itself and is not sent from our servers.

When you sign out, the app removes that device's token so it stops getting your alerts. When an account is deleted, all of its push tokens and notification settings are deleted.

AI features

KidsRise uses Google Gemini to suggest challenges, activities and surveys. Only the text a parent types as a prompt is sent to the AI. We never send kid photos, videos or voice notes to the AI.

What we do not do

Security

Data is stored in Google Firebase and is protected by access rules, so only members of a family can see that family's data, and only parents can see photos and videos and change the family.

Deleting your data

In the app, sign in as a parent, open the menu and tap Privacy & account. Tap Delete account, then Continue, type DELETE and tap Delete forever.

Deletion is permanent. Kids cannot delete the account. If you can't open the app, you can request deletion on the web.

Children

KidsRise is set up and managed by parents. We collect only the kid information a parent chooses to enter, and a parent can delete it at any time.
